Reviewer Comments: I typically love Christine Feehan so imagine my surprise when I realized that I wasn't remotely interested in the characters and instead of reading it in a day I put it down and was in no hurry to go back.

The main male character, Mack, is a self centered bully and Jaimie, the female lead acted like a victim with absolutely no backbone at all. I can't tell you how many times we read about how Jamie had always been taken care of or that Jamie has struggled so hard to live without Mack. Jaimie would tell Mack no don't do such and such and then Mack would do it. I ran out of patience with her pretty early in the book.

The book is 423 pages and could have been cut by about half with no real story line loss, it tends to be repetitive and boring for the most part.

I wish I knew what a made a book magical for me; the ones you absolutely can't put down and feel like the characters are a part of your world or you are a part of theirs. Whatever that magic is, this book doesn't have it at all.
