Reviewer Comments: Savannah Russe brings readers the third installment in her Darkwing chronicles with her latest vampire paranormal, Beneath The Skin. Readers follow secret agent Daphne Urban and the rest of team Darkwing as they accept their latest assignment and try to thwart the bad guys. Beneath The Skin shows a unique group of organized secret agents that readers will enjoy.

Vampire Daphne Urban only has one love right now and it’s her dog. Getting over her relationship with vampire Darius della Chiesa will take a while so she throws herself into her work as her only means of escape from heartbreak. Soon Daphne finds that there are plenty of men to choose from as old and new love interest appear

Daphne is called in to team Darkwing's offices and told of her next assignment, to stop the assignation of a presidential candidate. At each kill the word “Gage” is left by the assassin and this is their only clue to his identity. Quickly the team realizes that this assassin has links to the dark vampire society and Daphne must return to this dark world that she though she had left behind. Daphne throws herself into her work to forget how awful and confusing her love life is but can she fight the temptation of the dark side of vampire life and solve her case before it’s too late.

Savannah Russe has created a unique and interesting twist on the vampire paranormal. Beneath The Skin gives us an organized group of secret agents dedicated, albeit reluctantly at first, to fighting terrorism and evil. Russe fresh take brings readers into the story and her great knack for bringing action and complex plot to the mix create a great read.

Beneath The Skin give readers a funny modern woman locked inside a vampire as a heroine with relationship problems and even a controlling Mom. Daphne Urban is a sexy, savvy and strong heroine that feels almost like a mortal, except for her super powers and need to eat blood. Daphne has a whole group of prospects in the dating pool and Russe adds a few new men just to keep it interesting. Russe has just gotten better and better with her series and readers should look forward to more.
