A pair of characters and their story took hold of her mind and she found herself at her laptop, writing her first short novella. The rest, as they say, is history. Not quite three years later, she's written almost twenty published stories in various genres and lengths.

Dakota finds that her characters come alive for her and live next to her as she writes their tales. Which must make life rather confusing, since she's often to be found writing about ghosts, vampires, and dead supermodel/fairy godmothers. Somewhat surprised that her writing has been met with such universal support, she believes that laughter may well be the key - and her readers overwhelmingly agree.

To laugh is to lighten the burden of life, and any of Dakota's books will certainly demonstrate that philosophy. Her love of life and people is what drives her to continue to write stories that reflect the insecurities and joys we all can relate to in life, coupled with a giggle or two.
